good work.
Nice pictures and good effort at getting the rights caption. Only correction is that Bolaji Balogun is the MD of Chapel Hill Denham and Jide is a lawyer in charge of Balogun & Balogun law firm and also Primrose Properties.
@anon (March 11)--big thanks
@anon(March 14)--thanks a lot for the corrections..they are noted!
Well done. Other bloggers who know themselves ought to learn from your well captioned photos. But what happened to you. You were off for sometime and we missed you so much cos you handle your entries professionally
hey i thought femi pedro resigned, not impeached?
Hmmm....and dem they complain say there's no money for Lagos, meanwhile they're buying themselves bullet-proof cars. heheheheh...wonderful.
@Wienna
Even in US where public funds are not mismanaged (so to say), Governors use bullet proof cars. So what's the big deal?
What we need is total commitment to promises and proper implementation, which Fashola (SAN) is already giving us in Lagos, so let's learn to criticise constructively.
@Sola Folowosele
Na wah o egbon! It's now taking years for you to upload. Hope no yawa sha.
Thanks for the info. 'Ori e 4ka sile jo'.
@Anon(March 18,2009-8.38am)-Femi Pedro was actually impeached two weeks to the end of his tenure in May 2007.When it became obvious to him that his impeachmemnt inevitable, he quickly tendered his resignation letter as a face-saving measure.It was however too late in day, as the HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY rejected the letter on technical grounds and went ahead to effect his impeachment. The then Gov Tinubu later appointed Chief Abiodun Ogunleye as the new Dep Gov.He served for just two weeks and entered the history books as a "FORMER DEP. GOV".
It is instructive to note that, under the 1999 constitution in Nigeria,if an elected public official resigns voluntarily after getting involved in a misdemeanour, he gets all his "entitlementment, severance packages and other benefits"..But if such official has the misfortune of being kicked out of office via "impeachment", he forfeits all his benefits and goes home empty-handed,regardless of how long he had served..Thus Femi Pedro served as Lagos state Deputy Governor for 6 years,got impeached for looking Tinubu in the face and went home empty-handed..All his entitlement package was paid to Ogunleye who served for just too weeks.!..talk of Nigeria's politics!!
@Anon (March 17, 2009 7:31am)--thank you jare..lol@"other bloggers who know themselves"--u make me laugh!..im cool sha, nothing do me!just tha other stuff got more of my time..but with these nice comments now, i have to keep faith with blogville.

@anon-April 6, 2009 6:18-As the deputy governor, Femi Pedro felt(rightly so) that he ought to the Tinubu's natural successor when latter's tenure expired in 2007.But Tinubu gave the ticket to Babatunde Raji Fashola who was then The Chief of Staff.As a result of this, Pedro decamped from Tinubu's party, The ACTION CONGRESS and joined the Labour Party where the governorship ticket was given to him automatically.by then he was still occupying the office of the Deputy Governor of Lagos State.He was later impeached after losing to Fashola 0n April 14,2007 governorship election in Lagos.he was acussed of "anti-party activities".And of course,dont forget that the Lagos House OF Assembly which carried out his impeachment was (and is still) dominated by Tinubu's loyalists.
@aderemilekun-obviously the two are missing the point or they are not getting it right at all..just praying they would rebrand someday

Abiola Olaonipekun
Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun deserves all the honour. He has paid his dues. Helped so many people. I know Otunba personally, and I will for ever thank him for giving me an opportunity to set up one of Nigeria's leading TV production and post production companies. He always have good intentions, he is a man with style and a well bred Nigerian. From the Royal Family in Ijebu land.
Gboyega Adelaja
Oba Iroyin, nice work you are doing keep it up. just wanted to let u know that Delores is an Odogwu too and is actually Uche's sister.
Nice pictures, Otunba definitely deserves this, a great man who has achieved a lot. I had a missed opportunity to meet Otunba Balogun in London a couple of years back when his brief case was stolen with some valuables and I assisted in recovering some of the lost stuff.I spoke to him on the phone a couple of times then and for a man of his achievement, he was a very pleasant man to talk to.....i will still relish an opportunity to meet him face to face to get a unique inspiration from him...if you know how?

Praise singing of stolen wealth is the root of nigeria backwardness. Sola continue to insult our senses- foolll
SO NICE, CAN I BELONG? THAT'S EXACTLY MY WISH. MORE GREASE TO YOUR ELBOWS
@Stoic--Otunba Subomi has never been in government. he made his money through his private business. so i dont know anything "about stealing Nigeria's money"
keep it up..good work....jst stumbled on diz nw thru a friend/good coverage&caption
orimoyegun abiodun.j 08067669696
...... daddy, u tried.
The whole display is all about Nigerian's extravagant ways of living that does no one any good than to steal. Life abroad is more meaningful than the display of wealth seen in Nigeria.
Tut ! tut!! people with integrity and long memory, remember that not too long ago, Subomi Balogun Ashiru was involved in a forex scam involving one foolish Ibo gal he used as a mule. That notwithstanding, the Lagos Chambers of Commerce sanctioned him and barred him from ever heading any corporate organisation in Nigeria. Hence, his son, Bolaji Balogun Ashiru (someone shd pls check his qualifications), was hurriedly brought in to fill the gap...In other civilised countries, people like that will hide their faces from public places; and like John Profumo, of the Christine Keeler scandalous episode will banish themselves to the poor East-end area of London to do charity work and help the poor till he has purged himself of the iniquity. .
Sometimes it is better to keep quiet if details of situations are not know. Otunba is my uncle and he worked diligently for his money and the position he is in today. Working in financial institutions is a very strenuous work, I know this because I am also a banker,from the time I've know him, he's always been hardworking and the story about an ibo girl who was a mule is all false but as people now, anything can be said to blaspheme anyone they don't know personally, I can say I know him well and he is not that kind of man and if you still do not believe, go into the archives and read up on important personalities in Nigeria and you will find Otunba's name...By Otunba's first niece in NYC
WHAOOOOOO,LOOK AT THE BASTARD OF OUR COUNTRY,IMMAGINE ALL THIS PEOPLE THAT WE CALLED THE LEADERS HOW THEY ARE EMBESSEL OUR MONEY AND STILL PEOPLE ARE COMPLANING OF NO ELECTRICITY ,WATER AND THERE IS NOTHING LIKE GOOD ROAD AND THEY ARE ALL TRAVELLING ABROAD LOOKING AT OTHERS PEOPLES COUNTRY ENJOYING WITH NIGERIA MONEY AND STILL DRIVING A ROLLS STROY COSTOMISING EMPLOYING PEOPLE AS MD WITH EMPTY ETHICHET...BULLSHIT,THEY ARE ALL CIVILIANS AND THEY HAVE TO BEHAVE LIKE CIVILIANS COZ THEY ARE ALL FUCKING BOMBOCLAT....FULLISH PEOPLE IN FULLISH ATTIRE
it was a great day that lord has made.rejoice and be glad.
When I 1st met him at NIDB/ ICON Stock Brokers, he was not an Otumba. He was a one hard working Mr. Michael Balogun. He inspired so many people when he broke the monopoly of the big corporate ownership of Financial Institutions. When nobody believed him, he dared it to make those historic moves. Critics sh study his past. His makes for a good test book. He is indeed a Master. His type is rare to come by. He stands out amongst the Professional Class
Waooh, The man was 80 last year. Sola where was the coverage? Good work why are you not blogging again?
